Arbuckle Historical Society Museum - Sulphur Branch

Explore a historical piece of Oklahoma! The Arbuckle Historical Society Museum was built in 1917, originally as the Sulphur City Hall. Today, the antique building still features its original fixtures mixed with historical displays of the three different locations of the town as well as the history of Platt National Park, known today as the Chickasaw National Recreation Area.

Visitors can stop by to see the original city jail, courtroom and firemen's kitchen. They can browse through binders of historic photos featuring places, disasters and people, including keepsake wedding photos from years past. Guests can also view a fascinating collection of local treasures from an old telephone switchboard and permanent wave machine to posters of movies made locally, camera collections, tools, military memorabilia, vintage toys, Hereford Heaven Roundup Club items and Turner Ranch displays. Before leaving, stop by the museum gift shop to pick out some Sulphur related souvenirs like T-shirts, books, pottery, historical DVDs and more!

The museum is located just a few blocks west of The Artesian Hotel, Casino & Spa, next to the Jean Carr Gallery and across the street from the Flower Bluff Mansion Steakhouse. The Davis branch of the Arbuckle Historical Society of Murray County also has a museum located by the railroad tracks in Davis, OK.
