This Quarter's Featured Artist at the Chickasaw Visitor Center is Dana Tiger
Tiger is an award-winning and internationally acclaimed artist who was inducted into the Oklahoma Women’s Hall of Fame in 2001. With artistic roots running deep in Tiger’s family, she was exposed to art at a young age through her late father and uncle. Dana looked to her father’s and uncle’s art as a way to engage with her culture as well as the bounty of her family’s artistic talents and traditions. In 2002 Dana and her family founded the Legacy Cultural Learning Community, whose mission is to nurture creativity within Native youth by celebrating and sharing tribal languages and culture. Her art is displayed in galleries, universities, First American institutions and state buildings nationwide.
