Chickasaw Visitor Center

Sharing the Story of the Chickasaw Nation! The Chickasaw Visitor Center is located at the corner of Broadway and S.H. 7 in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Designed to provide information and tell the story of the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, the Visitor Center serves a wide range of tourists, highlights local attractions and communicates the Chickasaw Nation’s connection to the area. The Chickasaw Visitor Center is now selling hunting and fishing licenses required by the state of Oklahoma for recreational hunting and fishing. All variations of the license will be available for purchase seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This Quarter's Featured Artist at the Chickasaw Visitor Center is Brent Brander!

Brander is a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation and uses his paintings to encourage discussion amongst audiences. His work is heavily influenced by the concept of yin and yang, and the use of color to represent the union of opposing beliefs. Brander utilizes color to tell the story of each piece, incorporating personal narratives that allow for a more reflective, visual experience.

“As the color masses meet on the horizon, a whole new grouping of colors are created,” said Brander. “As if the two opposing forces or ideas have come together with their differences and created something new and beautiful.”
