*Important Safety Updates for the Chickasaw Nation Visitor Center*

The health and safety of our guests and employees is our number one priority. We continue to closely monitor Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and public health advancements, and we have implemented operational procedures and protocols that you need to know before you make your next trip to the Chickasaw Nation Visitor Center. 

  •       Chickasaw Nation Visitor Center will be limited to 10 guests at a time.
  •       All employees will wear a mask.
  •       Guests are advised to practice physical distancing leaving six feet between themselves and people not traveling with them. 
  •       Cleaning frequency is being increased throughout the facility in accordance with best practices.
  •       A sneeze guard has been installed at the retail check out stations.
  •       Hand sanitizer is available throughout the facility, at all entrances and internal doors.
  •       Masks are available for guests.

At this time, free coffee stations will remain closed. Out of an abundance of caution, all sales at the Chickasaw Nation Visitor Center will also be final until further notice.

Sharing the Story of the Chickasaw Nation! The Chickasaw Visitor Center is located at the corner of Broadway and S.H. 7 in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Designed to provide information and tell the story of the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, the Visitor Center serves a wide range of tourists, highlights local attractions and communicates the Chickasaw Nation’s connection to the area. The Chickasaw Visitor Center is now selling hunting and fishing licenses required by the state of Oklahoma for recreational hunting and fishing. All variations of the license will be available for purchase seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

 

This Quarter's Featured Artist at the Chickasaw Visitor Center is Don Grace!

Award-winning Chickasaw artist Don Grace’s work focuses primarily on stained glass, with subjects ranging from nature to First American culture. Originally from Jefferson County, Grace has taught and coached at three different schools across Oklahoma --Sweetwater, Reydon, and Watonga.

The Chickasaw Visitor Center is an information hub and gateway to Chickasaw National Recreation Area, the only national park established at the request of a First American tribe, the Chickasaw Nation.

The 8,500 square-foot facility includes an information desk, two informational kiosks, a multi-purpose gallery, gift shop, media room, pergola style patio area, public restrooms, penny press machine and complimentary coffee service. The retail portion of the Chickasaw Visitor Center carries Chickasaw Country souvenirs and apparel, local environment books and Chickasaw Press books, First American gift items and nature-related gift items. Works of art and photography by First American artists are also on display at the facility, including a prominent wall sculpture by Chickasaw artist Paul Moore.

Additionally, the Chickasaw Visitor Center serves as a convenient gateway for many attractions in the area including the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, Chickasaw Cultural Center, Chickasaw Retreat & Conference Center, ARTesian Gallery & Studios, Artesian Hotel, Casino & Spa, Chickasaw Nation Welcome Center and Bedré Fine Chocolates Factory.
