Lace up your shoes and get ready to walk, run or ride anytime from sunny summer days to brisk autumn afternoons in Chickasaw Country!

Fireball Classic Memorial Run (July)

Ada, Okla. - Named the 2023 Best of Chickasaw Country in the Run and Ride category, the Fireball Classic Memorial Run is held annually in Wintersmith Park in Ada, Oklahoma. The race features the Fireball Classic 5K, 10K and ½ Marathon with awards given in male and female age groups, as well as overall awards. The event is hosted by the Ada Sunrise Rotary Club and the proceeds benefit the Back to School Basics program, supplying backpacks and school supplies to children in Pontotoc County.

Stratford Peach Festival 5K (July)

Stratford, Okla. - Kick up your heels and run 3.12 miles starting at Stratford City Park and going around town. After the race, swing by the free pancake breakfast to refuel. The Peach Festival 5K is hosted by the Stratford Little League Foundation and Peach Festival Board. Registration is available online before the race and at 5:30 a.m. the morning of the race. The race begins at 6:30 a.m. the Saturday of the Peach Festival, held annually the third Saturday in July.

Bison View 5K (September)

Sulphur, Okla. - This scenic 5K take runners through the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. The Bison View 5K is a hybrid course with opportunities to see various wildlife, including the bison, and routes through some of the most beautiful parts of the Chickasaw National Recreation Area.

Chickasha's Rock Island Ride (September)

Chickasha, Okla. - Held in conjunction with the Rock Island Arts Festival and the Oklahoma Food Truck Championship, the Rock Island Ride features six riding categories. From the 10-mile town tour built for new riders, to the 63-miles very hilly ride for serious climbing and the toughest challenge, all ages and cycling levels will find a course that suites their style. All proceeds from the event go to local charities.

Alfalfa Bill Bicycle Ride (October)

Tishomingo, Okla. - The annual Alfalfa Bill Century Bike Ride offers scenic rides in the beautiful country in and around Tishomingo. Ride distances vary from the 10-mile fun ride to the 100-mile century ride. All rides are on paved, rural and lightly traveled roads with possible gently rolling hills. The ride is presented by the Johnston County Chamber of Commerce and the Tishomingo Parks & Recreation Committee.

Hills of Oklahoma Bike Tour (November)

Davis, Okla. - Starting in Davis, the Hills of Oklahoma Bike Tour is an event that challenges the avid cyclist and takes them on a scenic, yet hilly ride through the Arbuckle Mountains. The H.O.O.T. features four routes with stunning views: 30-mile, 45-mile, 60-mile and 100-mile century ride. H.O.O.T. is presented by the Davis Chamber of Commerce.

Chigger Chase (November)

Ardmore, Okla. - Yes, you can chase a chigger. This family-friendly holiday run follows a course through the Christmas lights in Ardmore Regional Park. Children can participate in the ¼-mile and ½-mile races to chase Charlie the Chigger. If you think you can catch the Speedy Chigger, sign up for the out and back 5K run. There is also a 1-mile fun run option as well.
