A New Year Bucket List from Chickasaw Country
A new year will begin, and with that will come new plans, new trips and new experiences. At Chickasaw Country, we want to ensure your 2025 is filled with family fun, delicious food and wild adventures. To help get your new year started, the staff at Chickasaw Country has a few suggestions for destinations you must visit in 2025!
“Every time I visit Ada, I have to stop by Folger’s Drive-In and get a hamburger. I have the best memories of grabbing lunch there growing up and the burgers are always as amazing as I remember them being. I also love visiting the Chokma’si Gallery and looking at all of the wonderful art on display. Both of these spots are definitely on my bucket list whenever I’m in town!”
- Katie, Tourism Arts Manager
“I’d suggest visiting Lazer Zone in Ada or The Clubhouse in Ardmore. Lazer Zone’s laser tag arena is huge and is a great location for groups or families looking for a fun activity. The Clubhouse’s go-kart track is also top-tier. I’m almost confident enough for the Indy 500 after a couple of laps in Ardmore.
- Erick, Tourism Videographer/Digital Content Manager
"I’m still exploring all that Chickasaw Country has to offer, but some of my favorites include hiking at Chickasaw National Recreation Area and dining at Bedré Cafe. On my bucket list, I’m excited to try the 777 Zipline, horseback riding with Arbuckle Trail Rides and visit museums like the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center. I also can’t wait to experience unique stays, like the floating cabins at Lake Murray and the converted grain bins at 3J Farms!"
- Alex, Tourism Communications Officer
“I love to escape the typical, flat Oklahoma roads and ride my bike through the twists, turns and hills of the Arbuckle Mountains. Riding up those hills gives a great workout and provides even better scenery. If I’m feeling extra adventurous, I’ll bring a kayak and end my ride with a calm and relaxing paddle on Lake of the Arbuckles.
- Ryan, Tourism Marketing Assistant Director
“We love riding our motorcycle through the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur. It’s an absolutely beautiful place to ride. We then travel to the Chickasaw Retreat & Conference Center to take in a beautiful view of the lake. Our next stop is Fat Bully’s by the Lake. They have the most amazing hamburgers. Then we head home for the day.”
- Melissa, Office Manager
"I am new to this area but have heard many good things to explore, especially the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur. I love the architecture and can't wait to explore more during my free days. My personal favorites on my bucket list would be the Magnolia Blossom Ranch to see the alpacas and, not to mention, the Christmas lights! I am a big foodie, so I am excited to discover the hidden food gems in Tishomingo, Ada and Sulphur."
- Priya, Tourism Research Analyst
“I would like to go to the Sole'renity Spa at The Artesian.”
- Mary, Graphics Designer
"My favorite parts of Chickasaw Country are the quirky, hole-in-the-wall locations with big personality like the Toy and Action Figure Museum, the myriad of antique stores, and unique places like the lavender farm or the alpaca farm."
- Kelli, Tourism Communications Senior Manager
