4 Magical Holiday Light Displays in Chickasaw Country

Share with friends

‘Tis the season to be jolly – and to see all the Christmas lights! Chickasaw Country has plenty of opportunities to see lights whether by car, by carriage or on foot. We have rounded up four holiday light displays that are sure to put you in the holiday spirit!

Chickasha Festival of Light

In Chickasha, you can walk or drive through more than four million lights. Or if you want a more romantic transport, hop on the horse and carriage tour! Stop by the ice-skating rink, Ferris wheel and carousel for fun, family-friendly activities. The event is FREE to walk or drive through. The 2023 season will open on November 18 through December 31 from 6-10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and Sunday, and open until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

*While in Chickasha, check out the 50-foot Leg Lamp, next to the Rock Island Depot in downtown.

Ardmore Festival of Lights

You will want to pack some hot chocolate and tune up the Christmas songs for the 1.5-mile drive through more than 150 animated light displays in Ardmore’s Regional Park. This is one of the largest holiday light displays in southern Oklahoma. The 2023 season will open on November 18 through December 30 from 6-10 p.m. daily, and open until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

*For a special experience in Ardmore, purchase tickets to ride the Jolly Trolley December 4-7 with three departure times. Get your tickets early as they typically sell out! While aboard the Jolly Trolley, you will ride through the Festival of Lights with holiday storytelling along the way.

Trail of Lights in Wintersmith Park

Ada will light the Trail of Lights in Wintersmith Park through New Year’s Eve. Drive or walk through brilliantly lit displays and note the Forest of Lights on the east side when you first drive in. Boasting 13 trees, the Forest of Lights is a featured area on the Trail. Another notable display is the blue Memory Tree. This tree is the only blue lights in the park and is accompanied by a sign listing the names of loved ones memorialized throughout the tree. The 2023 season will open November 20 through December 31 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. daily.

*Pair an outing at the Trail of Lights in Ada with the McSwain Theatre’s annual Christmas Spectacular to hear Jae L. Stilwell and the Crossover Band, and numerous guest performers, present an evening of your favorite Christmas music and Country classics! Check the calendar for dates and information.

Purcell Lights from the Heart

Meet the man of the hour during Purcell’s Lights from the Heart. Santa will be available for photos on Saturdays in December until Christmas. Take a leisurely two-mile drive around Purcell City Lake to see more than 190 animated displays featuring more than 650,000 lights. The 2023 season will open on November 22 through December 31 from 5:30-10:00 p.m. daily.

*Stop by Pride Popcorn in Purcell before driving the light trail to pick up gourmet popcorn, novelty candy and sodas to snack on while you view the lights.
