We All Scream for Braum's Ice Cream: A Day at Braum's Dairy Farm

Tuttle, Oklahoma

Most Oklahomans worth their salt know what’s in store when they see that bright pink ice cream cone in the sky: Braum’s! Widely known for delicious burgers and classic milkshakes (along with some of the best breakfast you’ll ever taste), did you also know that Braum’s owns and operates a farm right here in Chickasaw Country?

At Braum's Family Farms in Tuttle, you'll find a famous name that’s still a small-town business at heart, even after 51 years in operation. Initially opened as a market and restaurant, today you can experience this farm-fresh goodness in nearly 300 drive-thru and market locations across Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas.

Like many farmers and ranchers in Chickasaw Country, Braum’s knows the value of raising cattle the old-fashioned way, free of antibiotics and injections, and has been a champion of sustainable farming since the early days. Situated on 10,000 acres of lush green farmland in Chickasaw Country’s northwest region, Braum’s Family Farms continues to raise cattle for beef and dairy products, and operates the bakery that supplies for every single Braum’s location. Braum’s is so committed to keeping products fresh, that every single store is located within 300 miles, with their fleet of delivery trucks on the road seven days a week.

Braum’s Family Farms is also committed to their community, having kept their ties to Chickasaw Country even as their business continues to boom. Each year Braum’s sponsors The Book Buddy Reading Program, created to encourage literacy in elementary students.

Agritourism enthusiasts can also visit Braum’s Family Farms in Tuttle, with tours open to the public Monday through Friday. Tours are privately held in the mornings, and must be made in advance by calling the reservation line. Photos are not allowed indoors, but don’t worry – you’ll be rewarded with sweet treats for your good behavior!

Chickasaw Country holds many sweet treat options, though none are as rich in history as Braum’s Family Farms. When planning your next visit through south-central Oklahoma, don't forget to add Braum's Family Farms or one of its store locations to your list!
