Memorial Day Weekend has always been one of my favorite holiday weekends! I love that school is finally out and that warmer weather is finally here. I love how the entire summer is wide open, ready for me to make it my own! Just thinking about fresh cut grass, sunscreen, flip-flops, lawn chairs and swimming pools makes me smile from ear to ear, ready for the coming months.
One of my favorite things to do during the summer is to attend local festivals. There is something so sweet about jumping in the car and driving to explore a new town. Chickasaw Country has amazing fairs and festivals, and what better way to kick off summer than by traveling to the Artesian Arts Festival in Sulphur, Oklahoma. The charming small town will turn into a vibrant art show on the Artesian Plaza along Muskogee Street in Sulphur on Saturday, May 25! The brick streets will be lined with vendors full of one-of-a-kind artwork that I’m sure you can’t live without!
When you get to Sulphur, walk the streets and talk with the over 100 art vendors. There will be paintings, jewelry, sculptures, metalworking, textiles, pottery, bead work, and basketry! Listen to live music fon two different stages and eat yummy food from food trucks. There will also be children’s activities to keep everyone entertained.
While you’re in Sulphur, stop by these local shops and restaurants! Trust me, you won’t regret it.
This year, spend the Saturday before Memorial Day exploring Sulphur with us at the Artesian Arts Festival! And, make sure you use the hashtag #VisitChickasaw on all of your photos on social media!
See you there,
