Nine Romantic Places in Chickasaw Country

February 14.
Valentine’s Day.
The day of perpetual love.

Whether you celebrate Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14 or every day of the year, I’ve rounded up the best places that you and your honey (sweetie, schnook ‘ems, whichever you prefer) should stay, dine or see for a romantic time.

Stay:
The Artesian Hotel

Nestled in the heart of Sulphur, this historic hotel was rebuilt in 2013 after the original was destroyed by fire in 1962. From spacious rooms and fine dining to a spa and casino, this hotel is the perfect weekend getaway.

Echo Canyon Spa Resort

Luxurious robes at Echo Canyon Spa Resort

Echo Canyon Spa Resort is a state-of-the-art spa resort nestled in the heart of Sulphur, Oklahoma. Echo Canyon offers the finest accommodations from an award-winning bed & breakfast featuring mansion and manor suites to charming private cottages and carriage houses

Shiloh Morning Inn

Located in Ardmore, the Shiloh Morning Inn offers a variety of sleeping arrangements for their guests. From the main house with king suites to four secluded cottages, you’ll feel the love at this bed and breakfast. While you’re there, don’t forget to kick back in a hammock, or take a stroll on their grounds.

Eat:
Flower Bluff Mansion Steakhouse

Open Wednesday through Saturday, Flower Bluff Mansion in Sulphur is a fine dining spot in Chickasaw Country. From lamb chops, rib-eye steak, to baked Brie, you can’t go wrong with their menu!

Vintage 22

Known as a wine and dessert bar, Vintage 22 in Ada is bursting with romance. Whether you come for dinner or just for drinks and dessert, this joint in Ada’s Arts District is a hidden gem you’ll want to come back to.

Baron of Beef Restaurant

Known as a 5-star steakhouse, Baron of Beef is located in Sulphur on the grounds of Echo Canyon Spa Resort. I highly recommend a four-course candlelit dinner at a private table for an enchanting evening you’ll never forget.

See & Do:
Turner Falls Park

Home to the oldest park in Oklahoma and the largest waterfall, Turner Falls Park in Davis is a beautiful spot to visit. Whether you have a picnic in the park, a hike or you just enjoy the amazing scenery, the sights at Turner Falls will never disappoint.

Rusty Nail Winery

Opened in 2010, Rusty Nail Winery is in Sulphur on the historic Muskogee Avenue. Whether you want to have a glass of wine there or take a bottle or two of their hand crafted wines home, Rusty Nail is always a great time. They also offer Cork and Canvas Classes and wine tastings.

Spa 211

What better way to spend a romantic time with your loved one than at the spa? Spa 211 is located in Tishomingo and has relaxation bursting at the seams. With facials, massages, manicures and pedicures, this facility has everything! Don’t forget to enjoy a glass of champagne and a chocolate dipped strawberry in your comfy robe.

Well there you have it, folks. A romantic day, evening or weekend is sure to be had at any of these places!

Caroline
