Summer is a time for swimming all day at the pool and staying up late eating s’mores around a campfire. It’s long days at the ballpark and taking even longer naps in a hammock. It’s bike rides, frozen popsicles, hikes, and of course, ice cream. Lots and lots of ice cream!
With the start of school around the corner, we’re nearing the long days of routines and homework. So, before the spontaneity of summer ends, let’s celebrate with ice cream! If you’re looking for great ice cream, we’ve got you covered! Below are the best places to find a sweet treat in Chickasaw Country!
Bedré Café in Sulphur
When you’re in Sulphur, turn right on Muskogee Street for delicious ice cream at Bedré Café! They have it all: banana splits, hot fudge sundaes, shakes, floats, and ice cream cones. It’s the perfect place to stop while you’re staying at the Artesian Hotel or shopping in downtown Sulphur. The ice cream is great, but the café is also cute. There is a jukebox in the corner and red booths along the wall. It will feel like your stepping back in time at Bedré Café!
Sweet Swirlz in Sulphur
Just down the street from Bedré Café, you will find another sweet treat - frozen yogurt at Sweet Swirlz! When you walk in you will see hundreds of different options to choose from such as candies, fruit, and frozen yogurt. The atmosphere is fun with pink and blue decorations, and don’t forget to take a picture on the colorful chair at the front of the business.
Scout Café in Ardmore
Scout Café in Ardmore is a great place to find homemade goodies! The café opens early for breakfast and stays open through lunch. You can find delicious breakfast food, sandwiches and of course, desserts. Everything is homemade, and in my opinion, it’s incredible! If you want ice cream, be sure to check their daily menu on their Facebook page. Every day they serve a different dessert. Some of my favorites are the blueberry brown sugar crisp ice cream and the ice cream sandwiches.
