Hi friends! Kalli here.
Okay y’all, Valentine’s Day is great and all, but my favorite holiday in February is Galentine’s Day! This made-up holiday to celebrate your girlfriends was created on the TV show, Parks and Recreations! Have you seen it? Don’t take my word for it, take Galentine’s founder and star character on Parks and Rec, Leslie Knope’s words,
“Oh, it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies.”
So, who’s with me?! Let’s ditch the guys for a day (or a weekend) and have a fun girls trip to Chickasaw Country to celebrate the wonderful and incredible women in your life!
First stop: The Artesian Hotel
Sulphur is the perfect place for a weekend getaway with you gal pals! I took a trip to the Artesian Hotel a few weeks ago, and I fell absolutely in love! Did you see my Facebook live? If not, you can check it out here. There are many different room types, my favorite was the Hollywood Suite! Honestly friends, I didn’t want to leave.
The Artesian also has a wonderful indoor pool, a lounge where you can grab a couple drinks, and my favorite place … the bathhouse! Just walking into this room is relaxing.
Second Stop: Sole’renity Spa
The spa is on the second floor of the Artesian Hotel. As soon as I walked in, I felt completely relaxed. The spa has so much to offer including massages, mud wraps, facials, manicures, pedicures, saunas, and a whirlpool!
The facility is nice with a beautiful women’s locker room and cucumber water in every room! I didn’t want to leave the spa either! And guess what? I’m already planning my next trip!
Third Stop: Exploring Sulphur
After you are relaxed from the spa, explore downtown Sulphur! There is so much to do! If you want to shop, I suggest checking out The Mix Mercantile, Third and Broadway, Shoenique at the Artesian, Okie Twister Co., Luxe at the Artesian, Bromide Mountain and Kitchen 117! If you want to drink wine, stop by the Rusty Nail Winery and Tasting Room! If you want to enjoy nature, explore the Chickasaw National Recreation Area (it’s only ONE block away!) Do you want to view beautiful art? Visit the ARTesian Gallery and Studios. And while you’re there, you can even take an art class!
Fourth Stop: The Springs at the Artesian
After all of that exploring and shopping, it’s time for dinner! The Springs at the Artesian is an elegant restaurant and a perfect end to your adventure in Sulphur. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!
What a day! We hope you are able to getaway and have a relaxing girls weekend in south-central Oklahoma! While you are in Sulphur, don’t forget to tag us in all of your pictures using #VisitChickasaw!
Happy Galentine’s Day friends!
