Capturing the Hashi

Hi friends! Katie here.

We’ve been all about the Hashi this summer. From chasing the hashi, to soaking it up, we’ve been encouraging you to get out and enjoy what Chickasaw Country has to offer.

As part of our Hashi summer, we recently held a contest for photogs, novice or experts, to submit sunrise or sunset photos using #routeCC on Twitter and Instagram. Let me tell you, there are some talented folks in Chickasaw Country, and I’m excited to share their talent with you!

Our winner for the contest was Christy W. of Ada, Oklahoma. In true Chickasaw Country fashion, Christy captured what makes Chickasaw Country the best—the people.

The competition was tough, and we couldn’t just stop at Christy’s photo. Below are several honorable mentions.

@mdawana

The Arbuckle Mountains are always a crowd favorite and this was beautifully captured.

We always knew Lake Texoma was worth the trip, but the sunsets make the trip much more worth it!

If this doesn’t say, “Where the wind come sweeping down the plain” then I don’t know what does. Wind turbines are a frequent sight on the horizon line in Chickasaw Country, and the photo artistically captures them.

@mneidy72

Two Oklahoma classics: Pumpjacks and those rolling plains sunsets.

No matter where you are, you just can’t beat a sunrise or sunset in Chickasaw Country. Thanks to everyone who participated in the Hashi Sunset/Sunrise photo contest! Y’all really outdid yourselves.

Your pal,

Katie
