Hi friends! This blog post is for all the bookworms out there!
Nov. 4 is National Book Lovers Day, and if you’re like me, and love to curl up on the couch or your favorite reading chair with a good book, I have just the book for you! To celebrate National Book Lovers Day, we are giving away the Te Ata: Chickasaw Storyteller, American Treasure book! Fill out this form and cross your fingers for a chance to win!
Te Ata: Chickasaw Storyteller, American Treasure is a book that’s based on the true story of Mary Thompson Fisher who was one of the greatest Native American performers of all time! She was born in Indian Territory and was raised listening to Chickasaw songs and stories. Her native culture helped her find her true calling of the preforming arts. Fisher went on to preform for a United States president, European royalty and many other people around the world. The book was written by Richard Green and has recently been published as a movie by Chickasaw Nation Productions. Te Ata the movie will be coming out this fall on DVD, and a screening will be held at the Chickasaw Cultural Center on Nov. 4, Nov. 5, Nov. 12, Nov. 18 and Nov. 19.
I can’t tell you everything though, you’ll have to read it for yourself. If you don’t win the contest, you can get your own copy of Te Ata at Exhibit C, the Chickasaw Visitor Center and the Chickasaw Nation Welcome Center.
