10 Things to do During Christmas Break

Wahoo! Christmas Break is here! The kids are out of school for two weeks, and after celebrating the holidays what are you going to do? I think you should get out of the house and visit Chickasaw Country for a day (or two) during the break! Below is a list of 10 places you should explore over the break with your kiddos.

  1. Lazer Zone Family Fun Center in Ada

Have your kids been cooped inside for a few days? Let them run off the built-up energy at Lazer Zone! This place has it all – lazer tag, bowling, mini-golf, and an arcade. An added bonus – it’s all indoors! 

  1. Toy and Action Figure Museum in Pauls Valley

Do your kids love superheroes and action figures? Take a day trip to downtown Pauls Valley to explore the Toy and Action Figure Museum. While you are there, you can play dress up and view collectables. 

  1. Christmas Lights

You don’t want Christmas Break to slip by without visiting one of the beautiful light displays in south-central Oklahoma. You can walk through the lights at the Chickasha Festival of Light, or drive through lights at the Ardmore Festival of LightTrail of Lights in Wintersmith ParkLights from the Heart in Purcell, and the Celebration of Lights at the Chickasaw Cultural Center.  

  1. Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur

Speaking of the Chickasaw Cultural Center, bring the kids to this one-of-a-kind museum to learn and experience the culture of the Chickasaw people. Watch a movie in the Anoli’ Theater and experience the Festival of Trees!  

  1. Ice Skating in Pauls Valley

Bundle up for ice skating in Pauls Valley! You can practice your lutz jumps or hold on to the rail. Either way, you will have fun! 

  1. Bedré Fine Chocolate in Davis

Visit Chickasaw Country’s own Willie Wonka Chocolate Factory – Bedré Fine Chocolate! The kids can watch as the chocolate is made and can even sample different kinds of treats. 

  1. McSwain Theatre in Ada

For over 90 years the McSwain Theatre has been bringing the arts to south-central Oklahoma! Visit the theatre this Christmas Break to watch a few holiday movies! 

  1. Chisholm Trail Heritage Center in Duncan

Do you have a little cowboy in your family? Bring your buckaroo to the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center to learn what life was like on the Chisholm Trail! 

  1. Little Sole’s Kids Spa in Sulphur

It’s a pampering palace for your little princesses and princes! Your kids can get manicures, pedicures and experience a spa!

  1. A Cozy Cabin Stay

Do you want to extend your stay? Stay a night or two in a rustic cabin in south-central Oklahoma! Imagine all of the fun family memories you could make! It might even become a family tradition!
