On display at Stark Art Gallery starting March 24 and running through April 29, 2017 will be a showing of works by the two Oklahoma artists and creators, Kevin Stark and Sally Cloud. This two-person exhibition will kick off with a reception and party at 6pm on the opening night and will feature wine, hors d’oeuvres and live music from the internationally acclaimed band, Squeaky Burger.
Norman artist Sally Cloud will be showing a collection of her works in oil on canvas. Sally’s painted images include many subjects from nature including flowers, clouds and celestial landscapes. Her vivid color palette comes to life in her paintings when viewed through old-fashioned 3D glasses. Each guest that attends the opening will be given his or her own pair of glasses with which to view the art.
Pauls Valley artist and gallery owner Kevin Stark will be showing new works that are also enhanced with the use of 3D glasses. Inspired by East Indian art depictions of Hindu gods, Kevin’s newest works are large wall hangings depicting a “new mythology.” All of Stark’s new pieces, such as “The Creation Of The Moon” and “The Tiger VS The Serpentine Parrot,” are accompanied by a brief synopsis of a newly created myth or legend. This showing will be the first appearance of Stark’s newest creations.
At 9pm the band Squeaky Burger will perform a new soundtrack to an as-yet-unreleased Mexican movie. Headed by artist, musician and gallery owner, Kevin Stark, the band will perform a completely new soundtrack piece. The five-piece band has created over one hundred soundtracks for Mexican movies that haven’t been made yet. The band is currently releasing an album a month for the 2017 calendar year and both January and February’s releases will be available for purchase.
This event is open to the public and is free of charge.
