SULPHUR, OK- Chickasaw National Recreation Area is pleased to announce a three-part lecture series on the first in April and May at 7:00 P.M. at the Travertine Nature Center. The presentations will focus on pollinators and issues surrounding them. Please join us for the "First Thursday" series at the Travertine Nature Center coverting the following topics:
April 7th: Native Pollinators
Learn about ecological and agricultural significance of natice pollicantors, such as butterflies, beetles and hummingbirds. Discover how utilizing native plants can promote these species.
May 4th: Threats to Native Pollinators and Solutions.
Our final presentation will be on historic and modern pressures that endanger pollinators and what can be done to reduce these threats. We will look at trends in mass removal of "pests," unintended consequences of farm chemicals, and the introduction of foregin predators.
