The Fluorescent Fun Run/5K is being held in memory of Kelli LeFlore Erwin to benefit the Kelli LeFlore Erwin Memorial Scholarship Fund. Team Kelli was formed as a support for Kelli and her family. She battled cancer for almost four years and lost her fight at the age of 41.
The Fluorescent Fun Run/5K event is an experience that is less about how fast you run and more about enjoying the time with your friends and family. For this event, we want to see participants of all different speeds, ages, shapes, and sizes ready to have a great time. So whether you are a casual walker or an avid runner the Fluorescent Fun Run/5K invites you to come be a part of the fun. Less about your 10-minute-mile and more about having the time of your life, The Color Edition is a five-kilometer, un-timed event in which participants are doused from head to toe in different colors at different points in the race. With only two rules, the idea is easy to follow: 1. Wear white at the starting line! 2. Finish plastered in color! The Color Edition is less about speed and all about fun with your friends and family. You dress in all white and run, walk, skip or crawl 3.1 miles. So where's the fun? Oh, you get color powder thrown on you throughout the course. By the time you cross the finish line you're a moving abstract piece of art.
