Spring has Sprung in CC!

Spring is here! The promise of warmer temperatures, longer days and a little time to enjoy nice weather before that Oklahoma heat creeps up on us is here!

In my humble opinion, Chickasaw Country looks great no matter the season, but there’s just something about springtime that really makes the area shine!

The Arbuckle Mountains start to green up, wildflowers are blooming all along #routeCC, boats start hitting the lake and festival season kicks off!

If you’re like me, and the arrival of festival season fills you with ridiculous excitement then you’ve come to the right place! Let me give you a little taste what you can expect in Chickasaw Country this spring season!

Taste of Ardmore – Two words: food and music. Is there really anything better than those two things? Maybe…but they’re pretty hard to beat. Make plans to visit Ardmore on March 31 to try the delicious food throughout the city. Based on previous years, it’s a party you won’t want to miss!

Easter Fun – Trade the barrel of fun for a basket of fun this spring! There is no shortage of Easter egg hunts in Chickasaw Country and you wouldn’t want to miss the chance to have your kiddos frolicking through that fresh spring grass!

National Parks Week – In case you didn’t know, Chickasaw Country is home to the Chickasaw Nation Recreation Area (CNRA), which was once known as the Platt National Park! Operated by the National Park Service, the CNRA will be celebrating National Parks week with lots of fun and free activities, like Junior Ranger Day on April 16!

May Daze Festival – For Blanchard, this event marks the unofficial start of summer! This is a two-day packed event with fun for the whole family, including a carnival, turtle races and the annual Diaper Derby. Curious about what the Diaper Derby entails, you better mark your calendar for Friday and Saturday, May 19 and 20.

Love County Frontier Days – This three-day event is right on the cusp of summer! Starting on June 1, make your way to downtown Marietta for a Pioneer breakfast, a lively parade and the best – a hot dog eating contest!

Can you see why I’m so pumped for spring? Look at all the fun to be had! Be sure to check the events page as more events are added throughout the spring and into summer!

Happy spring,

Katie
