Art in Chickasaw Country

Chickasaw Country is rich with opportunities to take in First American, Western and Contemporary art.

The Chickasaw Nation Welcome Center in Davis and Chickasaw Visitor Center in Sulphur showcase First American art with rotating exhibits carefully curated by the Chickasaw Nation Tourism Arts team. These exhibits focus on varying mediums from photography to textiles and illustrations to oil paintings. Each piece in the exhibit is for sale.

Immerse yourself in many art forms at the ARTesian Gallery & Studios in Sulphur where visitors can purchase art supplies as well as perfectly crafted First American pieces ready to join a collection. The ARTesian Studios is home to a variety of artists, such as weavers, quilters, painters, beaders and more, who are willing to discuss their art and processes with visitors.

The Chisholm Trail Heritage Center & Garis Gallery of the American West in Duncan is considered one of the finest Western Art collections west of the Mississippi with works by Remington, Catlin, Russell, Houser and many more.

Discover the world of theatrical performances at one of the many theatres in Chickasaw Country. Experience local community theatre with Duncan Little Theatre or a Chickasha Community Theatre show at the historic Washita Theatre. Or catch a live performance from national touring acts at the Charles B. Goddard Center in Ardmore.
